Tiny House Jamboree Participation:
Veteran Support Solutions, L3c (a social benefit organization that has been supporting veterans and providing transition services since 2001) and Ensemble Ventures, LLC (a 19+Year Business Development and start-up "Venture Ventilator" located in Colorado Springs), teamed up to showcase its vision for Supporting Veteran Housing Solutions in Colorado at a series of Tiny House Jamboree's that were held in Coloradio Springs between 2015 and 2019.
Tiny House Jamboree 2015
This was the first national Tiny House Jamboree™ and was held in Colroado Springs at The Western Museum of Mining and Industry located at 225 North Gate Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80921.
Together VSS and Ensemble wanted to "consumer test" its original concept of its "VSS/Village" supportive housing model developing new veteran housing services and solutions to help address emergency, transitional and long term housing needs for Veterans in Colorado. By utilizing a unique Tiny Home CLUSTER Community concept that had been under development by Ensemble, we exhibited at the Tiny House Jamboree to see what the overall impression would be and to determine if there was a level of interest in its development and eventually explore it's use in nationwide in partnership alliances with a number of emerging "Veteran Village" initaitives. Tiny House Jamboree 2016
Veterans Support Solutions, L3c and Ensemble Ventures, LLC returned for it's second year at the Tiny House Jamboree as an exhibitor to showcase some of their innovative solutions for the creation of self-sustaining tiny-house-based “Pocket Neighborhoods” that can be developed into “Veteran Villages” which are designed to help reduce Veteran Homelessness. That year VSS Co-Founder and General Manager Mike Schmidt was asked to become the first Business Development Director for the Tiny Home Industry Association and Mike held a "think tank" session at the Jamboree to kick start the associations plans for developing a set of unified building codes and standards for the new growing industry. Tiny House Jamboree 2017
In May of 2016, (just 3 months before the next Tiny House Jamboree was being scheduled for August in Colorado Springs), The National Tiny House Jamboree organization updated its website with an surprise announcement on where the event will be moving, as well as a new partnership, which was a shock to the industry. The organizers apparently joined forces with Reed Exhibitions, who boasts of producing more than 500 events in 30 countries, attracting 7 million people in 2016. And they decided to move the 2017 jamboree to Arlington, Texas and wait until October 2017 to hold it ! Needless to say VSS and Ensemble were as surprised as thousands of other people who had already begun to make plans to attend the Jamboree in Colorado Springs in August.
Here is a Colorado Springs Independent article about the move HERE
What Ensemble decided to do was "Feature" VSS as one of the THIA members at the show as Mike Schmidt was continuing in his role as the Business Development Director of the THIA and do a showcase of our VSS/Village model and Ensemble's Tiny Home CLUSTER Community concept at the show. This was our first "Indoor" Exhibit, (which was definitely a lot easier to manage than an outside tent). For more information about our experience click HERE
Tiny House Living Festival - Denver 2017
Veterans Support Solutions, L3c and Ensemble Ventures, LLC appeared for the first time at the newly created Tiny Home Living Festival that was held in Denver, Colorado. This was one of two new Tiny Home events that were scheduled in Colorado to replace the larger Tiny House Jamboree that was held in Colorado Springs in 2015/2016 because the "JAM" was moved to Arlington, Texas this year. At the Tiny Home Living Festival, VSS had the opportunity to again exhibit and showcase its designs and concepts for a self-sustaining tiny-house-based “Pocket Neighborhoods” that can be developed into “Veteran Villages” which are designed to help reduce and end Veteran Homelessness.
